Background: She used to live a peaceful life in Ryugu Kingdom and worked as a singer, but sometimes she would swim outside and collect trinkets and books that she would read and collect. She grew up very interested in the surface world and about how big the world actually was. When she turned 30 she went to the outside world, but intercepted a ship filled with slaves and got captured. She was then taken and sold as a slave at a Slave auction. She then got transported by her owner to his home, where Esther and her crew were at the time. They met Rouge, as she was outside with her owner and upon seeing her shackled, Esther decided to free Rouge and the other slaves. Esther wanted to help and free her, but Rouge wasn’t very willing to be free, because if the world was like this, she didn’t want to see more of it. It was then that Esther punched her and told her, even if she had lost her will to fight, the other slaves might not have and forced her to help them. During the mission, Rouge revealed why she left in the beginning, which caused Esther to hit her again, as she told her that the world was grander and better than the world of slavery. An example was the Star Pirates, who helped them. Esther also explained that there are many different systems and beings in this world and that she would protect Rouge while showing her the world.

She is very kind, responsible and motherly and almost treats her crewmates as her children. She brushes the pranks off as funny, but can be rather hotheaded when they start to annoy her, hurt each other or when people wont listen to her. She is easily angered and annoyed and thus tends to yell a lot. She acts brave and says that she isn't afraid, but when actually facing something scary, she will hide or shake. She is also very impatient and tends to tap her fingers on a surface to distract herself. While mature, she can also be somewhat childlike, as when she is very shy and bashful when she is greatly praised. When greatly praised, she also forgets about everything else and hears nothing, will even forget that she is supposed to scold somebody and will stop being angry. However sometimes she will remember and get angry again. She obviously has a temper and if you try to escape, she will hunt you down, even angrier. Will even scold enemies and lecture them as well in the midst of rage. Sometimes takes Mireille's speed and strength enhancing drugs when facing many marine ships at sea, to better sink them if they are surrounded. If near the water, she tends to use it for her techniques to better strengthen her attacks and because she is clumsy on land. When fighting on land, she tends to misstep, but is at a level high enough to be able to develop new techniques and improvise, making it a success anyway. She is capable of breaking down many surfaces and uses her fishman karate to a very creative degree, utilizing it in new and mysterious ways. Some would ride the big wave she has created using her techniques in case of needing to get higher or shoot drops against certain parts of her body as acupuncture or to put her joints back into place. She is capable of busoshoku, but is still a novice and doesn't have full control of it. When she does have control of it, she will use it to harden her fins and use them as blades. She is very agile and uses acrobatic like attacks. She is also very flexible and is capable of attacking from every direction and twitch her body. She is also capable of removing and setting her joints in place if ever needed.
