Description Gypsy Cove is one of the first places I saw penguins. It was windy as hell, but still totally awesome. This photo is not enhanced in anyway. The water is really that blue. You couldn't actually go down to the waterside, because the land is fenced off with barb wire due to the landmines dropped by Argentine forces during the 1982 war. The landmines are made of 98% plastic, which makes them very difficult to detect and disarm. Fortunately, penguins are not heavy enough to set them off, so penguins who nest in mine fields are some of the most protected wildlife on the planet.
