If you've ever played Homeworld2, I think you'll recognise this image. If not, it's the mothership of the good guys in the game, and this shot is taken side on looking down at it. Compared to other ships, it's pretty huge, and although this pic doesn't do a great job of conveying that sense of size, it's still pretty nice.
I keep my desktop nice and clean from icons, so high contrast images like this tend to look nice, if you have rows and rows of icons (you messy slacker), go find a nice gradient, which, coincidentally, you can find right here: [link]
