Joey rested his head against the glass of the bus letting the beats of dub step drown out the awkward and hushed tones of the other people behind him as they traveled down the highway towards Bowling Green. His stomach rolled as his nerves began to get the best of him. He glanced around at the other people behind and beside him. They were so different than he was....how had he been accepted? The guys were well muscled and gorgeous and the girls were well near perfect. Sure, he guessed that riding style had played a huge role in who was chosen, but he had neither much experience nor the looks to hang with these people.

His mind trailed back to his home in Denver. Anything was better than that place and anyone was better than those kids he had grown up with. He was glad that he had left, that the letter came when it did. He finally had an excuse to leave his crack whore of a mother and dead beat father and those stupid kids that hung around the neighborhood. The only thing he would miss about that place was the stables...and Him....

No, don't think about him. Joey blinked back some tears that threatened to escape. He took a deep breath and sighed. Things were going to be different. He was going to go back to the Joey he had been before he met Randy. Here in the middle of nowhere Kentucky he would be able to get back on the right track and not worry about guys like Randy being anywhere near him. Possibly he could meet a girl that would wipe the memory of Randy right from his mind. Yes, surely if the right girl came along things would be set right.

Some giggling caused him to turn where he looked upon a couple of twins. One was a cute blonde, though a little plain. She was wearing a soft pink top with a little lace over the edges and some fitting jeans. She wasn't wearing any make up, and not that she really needed it, but she would do good to have some more on. She was reading something, but Joey wasn't quite sure what it was. She was too busy giggling with the busty brunette beside her. Now that was a woman. She wore a low cut top with some skinny jeans. Dark liner lined her large green hazel eyes and her bright red lips curled back over her perfect white teeth. She kept glancing over at the guy who was sitting behind him. Upon seeing Joey staring at her, the brunette bit her bottom lip and glanced at him with a sultry passion that was sure to turn any guy on...

Any guy except him. Maybe it was just nerves. He turned away and turned his music up to carry him the rest of the way to Bobwood Creek.

The bus finally squealed to a stop and everyone got off. Some people had tons of luggage, but Joey was able to quickly retrieve his single duffle bag with everything he had in it. Again, he couldn't understand why they would choose a guy that had nothing and came from nothing over all the kids around the country that could provide so much more. He followed them to what looked to be the main house and stood around careful to avoid the other people who seemed just as lost and confused as he was. Finally some people entered the room.

"Welcome to Bobwood Creek Stables!" a red headed woman said. "I am Sandra Grieves, owner of these beautiful acres. This is Jason York the Eventing Trainer and manager of these stables."

One by one each staff member introduced themselves and then moved to a different area of the room.

"Alright, now all of you have had some form of training in each discipline we offer here and each of you have had high recommendations from your mentors. Now, those of you that are Eventers, please go to Jason. Those of you that are Show Jumpers, meet up with Vince. Dressage riders go over to Lauren, Cross Country people meet with Rayne and those of you left in Endurance go to Tissa over there. They will get you signed in and tell you where to go from here. This afternoon you will meet with your group again and be assigned a horse." Joey bowed his head and went over to the tall and extremely attractive Vince and looked around at the other 3 people with him. Vince waited until everyone had settled into their own groups.

"Hey guys. As you already know, I am Vince and I am the lead trainer in Show Jumping here at the stables. Now we only have 3 school show jumpers, so at the end of these 4 weeks one of you will be moving on to a different part of the stables or leaving, which ever you prefer. Now I want you all to tell me your names and where you are from and how much riding experience you have starting with you," he said pointing to a small petite girl.

"I am Amy Bradford and I am from Maine. I have been riding since I was about 6 years old and have been show jumping at the stables I worked at from the time I was 9. Never had much money to get a good jumper so I could only go so far on the same old horse," she said.

"I am Brady Roffmann and I am from Nashville, Tennessee. I have only been riding for about 5 years now, but I have been doing some show jumping for a little bit."

"I am Danielle Sweeny and I come from New York. Been riding as long as I can remember and show jumping for 10 years now. Pretty excited to be here!" a tall bright red head said.

"I um, I am Joey Radcliff and I am from Denver, Colorado. I have only been riding for a couple years....I don't have a lot of experience, but I started with show jumping at the stables I went to back home....Ran...I mean Mr. Pollard taught me a lot," Joey said. Vince smiled as if he knew something and went on explaining some things before dismissing them.

Joey stood in the afternoon Kentucky sun with the other people in his group. They were the smallest group, so they were able to be paired with their horses first. Since there were so many Eventing horses here, everyone would get paired with a horse until someone was moved. Joey was sure it would be him.

Finally some of the staff members were making their way to the Dressage ring with 4 horses. Two of them were Warmbloods of some sort and the other two Joey wasn't sure of. One of them had a horn and bright blue markings, the other one just had some interesting markings.

"Amy, I want you on Golden Boy, or King for short. He is about 5 years old and pretty good on some of the jumps right now, but he will get better. Brady, I want you on Chester here. He is a Crossbred Eclectic Spirit Horse. Been on a few jumps, but needs more training, I think you will do good on him. Danielle, you can be on Temperance. She is the hardest one here to handle. Joey, you are on Basileus. He is a pureline Eclectic Spirit Horse that has not yet bonded. There is a chance you will bond with him, but until then you will be learning some basics on him. That ok with everyone?" Vince asked. Everyone seemed fairly happy with their horse.

"So...um...guess I am gonna take you to your stall now...come along," Joey said to Basil. The stallion snorted, flicked his tail and followed the boy to the barn where he would be staying for the summer.

Oh...and behold my first ever completely non-traced human XD NO REFERENCE! Yea, that is right. I totally kicked SOME butt XD Gotta love my mystery Joey!!!! (his story will get more interesting with time I promise!)
