Description
Sandra's heart thudded as she got out of the truck to make sure Jason was properly lined with the gate to the Junither pasture. Baelior, Cosette, Enigma, Ivan, and Cricket were all gathered along the fence line, their ears flicking back and forth impatiently. Baelior gently nudged those that were getting a bit tooanxious at the arrival of their new members to calm them as he snorted and assessed the situation.
"You don't think he will get too temperamental with Jaq, do you?" Sandra asked nervously as Jason got out to help with the two horses in the trailer.
"You and I both know there isn't much that ruffles that stallion's feather. I wouldn't trust them under anyone else," Jason replied, his voice trailing as the trailer being pulled by Vince and Cory came into view.
When Firelight called for assistance, Sandra was always more than eager to help, and this call about twenty very sick, very scared Junithers came, Bobwood Creek was the first to send resources to help them get the horses the care they needed. Of course, Sandra had to go and see the horses before long and two of them caught her eye.
Jason opened the trailer door and calmly began talking to the stout black stallion that was first. Jaq whickered deeply and nervously as he shifted from one foot to another, but offered no resistance as Jason grabbed his halter and hooked the lead on him. He led the Junither around a couple of times to allow him to adjust to the brightness and feel of the new place all while allowing him to have a good view of the other two stallions that were staring at him. He neighed loudly, arching his thick neck and blowing air as he greeted his soon to be pasture mate.
Sandra slowly made her way into the trailer, talking as calmly and sweetly as she could to let the tall, painted mare know exactly where she was and what she was doing. Large, flakey scars covered most of her body from the chemical burns she had suffered from in the testing facility and two, small nubs where her elegant antlers should be were just barely visible in the thin forelock that fell over her face. Thankfully the mare came quietly, despite being completely blind. Milky green eyes stared straight through the woman as she carefully rubbed her muzzle and cautiously led her off the trailer. Jaq immediately went to her side, designating himself as her eyes and guiding her where Jason wanted them to go.
The two of them unclipped the leads after they were safely in the pasture. Baelior, the gentle giant, acted as crowd control for his small herd, keeping the younger members further from the frightened pair as they adjusted to their surroundings. It was going to be a long process, getting these two to trust them, but with Lauren's expertise in working with blind horses and Sandra's will to help them, they at least had a place to start.

Crappy story is crappy. Crappy shading is crappy. Crappy day is crappy.

At least they'll have a large Juni herd to help them settle in. Looking forward to seeing where they'll be by the end of this.
