OK!

So a while back, one of my favorite bands - Type O Negative - had a contest for their fans. Make a 30 second fan commercial for their new album.

The prize?

Kenny Hickey's Guitar. (Kenny Hickey = Type O Guitar Player)

So you KNOW I was all over that.

I missed the 24 hour film fest in Savannah, it started the year after I graduated. But this was my own exercise in it, as I animated the whole thing in 24 hours. By MAHSELF!

Yeah, there's some loops/movie clips and I did some Motion Tweens to supliment some of the frame by frame. (Actually, its more like the frame by frame supliments the movie clips...) but I still did the whole thing myself and I feel proud of it.

Forgive the Photoshopped arm but the rules CLEARLY STATED we had to show OUR COPY.

Blah Blah Blah, flash forward.

The RECORD COMPANY, not the band or the fans, picked the winner.

So I did not win. LOL! Which is fine. As an animation it was fun, but as a commercial it was a bit static/slow.

However, my day was MADE by heading over to the Type O Forums where, according to the fans? I had won the "popular vote." NO ONE liked the winner, and it actually was 34 seconds and violated the rules per se, so there was a BIG STINK. People were complaining, etc etc...

So Josh, the Keyboardist came on the forum and posted the following:

"Wow, I am really sorry. I'll call a meeting with SPV after repairing relations with Britain, resolving the middle east peace process and taking a shower.
The grave one was funnier anyway."

Eff all that. If the band members liked mine best, I don't need a damn guitar!! And they're sending me a signed poster anyway.

HOORAY!!! It was just so cool to see Josh post that!

(And yes Deviant Art, Type O cleared the use of their songs in our videos so we can post this stuff.)
