Sad that they're making a new MGS rather than a new MGR. Kojima has already said that he would like to create a sequel, despite some major disapproval from hardcore Metal Gear fans. To be honest, of the MGS series, I've only played MGS4 and strongly disliked it. Metal Gear Rising however is one of my favourite games of the last few years, and pulled in a lot of people who, like me, weren't fans of the original series. If they could hit a bit closer their first idea of Metal Gear Solid Rising, I think that we would have the potential for a monster of a franchise.
