Description Yes, yet again, I'm doing DC-related artwork and posting it to an account that was originally designed for posting Irken OC artwork. But hey, you gotta hand it to me, this piece is really damn good! Throw me a bone here...
This is how I view the Riddler's design if he were a villain in the Christopher Nolan "Dark Knight" saga. I've had an idea lately that the saga can continue after the events of The Dark Knight Rises, following the adventures of the new Batman, John Blake, as he protects Gotham from a whole new wave of villains trying to gain control over Gotham's resurrected criminal underground in an epic TV series with the same budget and quality as the movies, The Dark Knight Legacy. The entire premise of season 1 would be the rebirth of crime in Gotham, followed by a fierce competition among new villains to try and hold the highest position of power. Little does everyone know that a lot of strings are being pulled, particularly by a scheming man in the shadows, whose ultimate plan, to gain complete control over Gotham's very populace mentality, is slowly coming to piece, and takes on its epic final step in the season finale. A forger of custom weapons, connoisseur of all forms of music that speak out as "art" to him, fencer, smoker, fascinated with puzzles and other sorts of mental challenges, and an almost unstoppable mad genius, the man once known as the simple Edward Nigma has cast aside his former identity and assumed the alias, The Riddler.
If you know what I look like in real life, then you can tell I kinda modeled this Riddler after myself, what with the slender build, the ponytail, and the mustache and goatee. His voice is obviously quite deep from his smoking, yet it's a very smooth and eloquently moving voice to listen to, almost hypnotic... even erotic at times. Look out, Eddy, you've got swarms of fangirls coming your way... X3 If you noticed the side item at his left side, the hatchet-blade-enhanced elongated pistol wedged into the bleeding skull, you'd probably be wondering what the hell that's even doing there. Well, look very closely at the question mark symbol burnt onto Nigma's bowler hat (yes, it's supposed to be burnt on there. I wasn't so good with that detail, so sue me). You see how it's shaped there? I actually modeled that shape off what the hatchet-pistol in the skull looks like. Just look veeeeeerrrryyy closely and you'll see what I mean. One last thing to note here, who is the "Jervis" he's referring to in the text of the work? ... Jervis Tetch, who's supposed to be Nigma's right-hand man throughout season 1. That's all I'm saying. Look up who Tetch is if you're curious. The answers are always there if you research them...
