Family: Rainbow Dash (Mother), Zephyr Breeze (Father), Spitfire (Stepmother), Henna Sunshine (Younger Half-Sister), Storm Chaser (Younger Half-Brother)

Special Talent: Water Sports of all kinds, but surfing is his favorite. He first discovered his talent when his great-grandmother Thistle Whistle took him and his siblings to the beach when he was young.

Personality/Background: Ty is the product of a very short lived marriage between Rainbow Dash and Zephyr Breeze, the two of them only got married because of a drunken one night stand that got Rainbow pregnant and neither of their families wanted Ty to grow in a “broken” home. So the two got married and when Ty was born Rainbow was determined to give him the best life she could, however being in the Wonderbolts took up most of her time and Ty was often left at home with his father, who would ditch the young foal on either his Aunt Fluttershy or his grandparents- great grandparents in Rainbow Dash’s case.
Zephyr Breeze was frustrated as well, not liking being “Tied down” in his marriage with Rainbow and one night left to go back home to Cloudsdale for a night on the town. He found himself at his old favorite bar and there he saw a rather dejected looking Spitfire, who had her own problems, he recognized her as being one of Dash’s coworkers and in his now drunken stupor decided that the best way to relieve his frustrations would be to go and spend the night with Spitfire.
Spitfire in her own drunken stupor didn’t recognize him, as he rarely showed up with Rainbow and she wasn’t fond of talking about him. So she thought a night of fun would be great.... and that’s how the affair started.
Zephyr found himself excited with the affair, and enjoying the relaxed way he could come and go from Spitfire as he pleased, much like how he thought his relationship with Rainbow should’ve been. But once again, he ended up getting a mare pregnant. It was when this happened that he decided to cut ties with Spitfire and returned back to his “boring” life with Rainbow and Ty.
Spitfire was heartbroken, especially now that she knew that he was married to Rainbow Dash, and he didn’t want any part in their child’s life. She decided to keep the baby, and disappeared on a sabbatical. Rainbow was left in charge of the Wonderbolts until her return. However this didn’t feel right to her, so she went after Spitfire. Spitfire- now face to face with Rainbow- broke down, telling her everything that happened and that if she hated her that was fine.. on the contrary, Rainbow wasn’t angry with her... she was angry with Zephyr Breeze. She’d been wanting to get divorced for a LONG time and this was the final nail in the coffin. She told Spitfire that no matter what she would be there for her and the baby.
Rainbow kicked Zephyr out and got the fastest divorce in Equestrian history, and in his place, Spitfire moved in. She wouldn’t be able to do much work for the Bolts while she was pregnant and she didn’t think she could be alone during the pregnancy, so Dash agreed to let her move in.
Ty was a mixture of confused, happy, hesitant, and excitement all at once. He liked Spitfire, and was actually happy with the idea of becoming a big brother. Spitfire was happy to be so easily welcomed into the Dash house and fell in love with Ty, even though she had a lot to learn about taking care of a kid.
As the months went by the three of them became more and more like a family, Dash and Spitfire found themselves falling for one another, and everything shifted into place the day Ty called Spitfire his mom for the first time.
That’s when Rainbow Dash and Spitfire got married. A week or so later, the baby was born, a little pegasus filly they named Henna Sunshine. A few years later they had another child, an earth pony colt named Storm Chaser.
Ty’s relationship with his father is practically nonexistent these days.
Ty’s a rather laid back sort of pony most of the time, he enjoys relaxing and taking time just to enjoy what’s around him so he gets along famously with his cousin Seraph and the two can often be seen sitting outside together in silence. However Ty has a fiery competitive streak that comes out whenever he gets out on the water, his big dream is to one day become a gold medalist in the Summer Equestria Games.
He’s also far more mature than his appearance lets on, due to the fact his childhood was so tumultuous. While was never interested in being a Wonderbolt like his moms, they’re proud he has found a way to stay motivated, which was something he struggled with as a kid.
