You make a good point. Invincible characters may seem bad ass at first but they get boring and annoying realy fast. For instance, the main characters and this invincible character are in a bad situation, like the world is ending or they got into a catastrofy, the main characters manage to survive it or escape, eccept for the immortal character. If this character wouldn't be invincible, he may die in this cotastrify or get seriously injured and we'd feel at least some what pity for it, but since it's invincible, all we end up wondering is when will the character return instead of wondering if it's ok.
In my opinion, characters that strong should be exclusive. Or used as a last resort against a very powerful but cocky enemy. Like Saitama in One Pounch Man. Thay way you'll be chanting "F**k him up!" or "Maul his a**". It also helps if the character would have at least some weaknes or flaw. Otherwise it's flat and boring.
But that's my opinion.
