100 Theme Art Challenge i'm really into doing these lately for some reason lol... 
Sephiroth: Mother, let's take this planet back together.
the Nibelheim Reactor scene where Sephiroth cut off Jenova's head... after he'd lost it completely 
...as an audience i was deeply saddened by the fact that the kind and gentle Sephiroth was lost forever here 
the Sephiroth known from the original game had always been a ruthless and cold character, but from Crisis Core, the audience were able to see another side of him. yes, he's always been an aloof person, but at the same time he was kind and caring. Shinra and Hojo was what filled him with rage and took away his sanity Sephiroth is the antagonist of the story, but at the same time he's a tragic hero not that there aren't enough of them in FFVII already... is that one of the reason that he's so popular?! 
how i wish that Sephiroth had known his real mother Lucrecia... T.T and if Vincent was his dad instead of #(@*$& Hojo do you think it's a creepy picture?! cause i don't think so lol i didn't draw her exposed brains... because 1) i do not like brains... ewww, and 2) i'm too lazy to learn how to draw something when i think it's gross... LOL... anyways~ thank you for viewing~ i hope you like it~

it wasnt just hojo - it was whole society especially zack who pretented to be his friend and yet he wouldnt mind it if seph with get gutted as pig when time would came

really? i didnt think it was....*scratches head* hehheh..but thats just how i felt about it in the picture. his face looked so relived and happy and a bit insane just to see his mother and hold her head...kinda gross lol but still. it seemed sweet...in a creepy sort of way.

What I see when I first look at this is : "Sephiroth *believes* this is his mother". The emotion you captured on his face is positively breathtaking. 10/10 & not in the least bit creepy.

Beautiful! By the way, what do you say about CC's version of him? I mean, in Sakaguchi's original work he became mad after he read the word "JENOVA" in Nibel's reactor and, knowing his mother name was "Jenova" he did 2+2 reading almost all the books in Shinra Mansion; but in CC it's Genesis the one who put him in that way.

the CC version... hmmm... i had some resistance in believing that Genesis was the one that convinced Sephiroth that he's a monster and made him start doubting and went to research in the Shinra basement and sebsequently went crazy... but since it's written by the same scenario writter Nojima, i'm ok... yeah i'm ok with this 'history changing' Genesis plot insertion lol. because if anything is cannon, it would be the work of the original writer~ plus i think it made Sephiroth seem more humane and slightly more emotionally stable as he did not immediately start to think he's a monster when he saw 'Jenova' until Genesis pounded it into him <_<;

EveLeech They`re not exactly retcons.They`re filling in gaps in the original backstory.Also,remember most of what we saw of Sephiroth`s backstory in the original FFVII were from the perspective of a man(Cough Cloud) who had his memories repeatedly fucked with.Β

Also,he kind of was in a way,just not physically orΒ addressed by name.They did mention Sephiroth`s view on Shin-Ra and humanity took a turn for the worst after meeting with an insurgent leader who used to work for Shin-Ra during the Wutai War.We later find out in "Crisis Core"Β Β that the insurgent leader in question was Genesis.

Duh,Nomura hadn`t thought up the character yet.That doesn`t mean he has no place in the lore.Especially considering all the gaps in the lore as it originally stood due to localization errors and rushed turn-based JRPG game mechanics.That`s the same reason Sephiroth was presented as a cliche megalomaniacal JRPG antagonist rather than the tragic fallen hero he would later be established as.
