Description So I started looking into how I was going to clean up my animation. Needless to say, I was getting ahead of myself and I realized I would need to do a pre-clean up in Flash so that I don't cause the volumes and textures to go all over the place. Luckily, I only got this far before I realized this.
The difficult thing is flash has a very limited brush - so if I do the clean-up only in Flash I don't have many options. So I have to export each frame into another program which does. Also, I have to double the frame size that i'm working in because i'm planning on publishing this as a swf file at 640 x 480 which is too small to get detailed inking. (Thank Goodness there is a Photoshop Script option that re-sizes all of them for me.) Then I use Photoshop to make my line art but then I hit another problem...
Photoshop works in pixels and if I export the pixel image into flash...it'll look like a crappy jpeg. (yea yea I know about the pen tool but I don't get a very natural line with it) So I have to take the image into Adobe Illustrator and Live Trace it to turn it into vectors. Then I can re-size all the images back to 640 x 480 and all the frames should come out looking like this.

...It sounds worse than it actually is.
