Erion still can't use his powers.
Like, no duh, right? But it wouldn't hurt to keep it in everyone's head as we fast approach our confrontation.
Oh, but it DOES show that despite Erion's flaws it won't stop him from trying. See, unlike Derek,
who's kind of a selfish ass-hole, Erion always has the need to satisfy everyone around him (which is kinda funny considering what we'll learn about him in the next chapter,
but let's not get ahead of ourselves).
Really, the only reason for his power-impotency is his total lack of self-confidence.

Well I don't know how many times off hand, but that's why I said "seems". He seems to have a handle on his situation, like it seemed Mexico would win the Mexican-American War. In other words, yeah they got their licks in, but they were fucked from square one.
