Advanced maths. In normal counting we use Base 10 (from 0 to 9).
GLaDOS uses Base 4 (from 0 to 3).
For example:
1=1
2=2
3=3
4=10
5=11
6=12
7=13
8=20...and so on
With other words, GLaDOS doesn't even know how to count. XD
