Description
Long ago i was experimenting trying to use a chisel which i fail at. I cut a broom pole in half and made a number of rings around the pole and chisel down 4 lines down to the end. I leaved a space at the bottom for a handle of course. Years later i decided to clean it up by spraypainting it silver to look like metal and wrap the handle with black electrical tape. I must say again i suck at chiselingRelated content

In modern terms, they're called Kali Sticks, but since it's a game it probably doesn't matter.
Filipino Martial Arts tends to use them. They're usually made out of a stirdy wood (I couldn't tell you the type). The thinnest I've handled is about 1/2 and inch and the thickest being about 1 1/2 inch.
If you ever wanna give Kali Sticks a shot again in the future (maybe not as a derived piece from DW), here's a few pointers for the real deal:
1. Standard length is usually from your fingertips to your armpit though they can be shorter (I prefer mine long for more range)
2. Kali Sticks are never held at the bottom. They are held about 1/4 the way through since it adds stablity to the top as the hand acts as the fulcrum (I believe that's the scientific term), otherwise the strike is extremely weak and unbalance when holding at the very bottom (it's possible for the stick to fly away like this).
3. Tape approximately 1 inch from the bottom for about 6-7 inches. If you want to tape the top as well, then I suggest covering approximately 2/3's the overall stick with black tape (imo it looks better that way for taping both ends). This causes the stick to have more stability and hides blemishes during practice since the top won't break as easily, but since I don't think you'll be training with them one end is fine it looks just as good as two (even better!). Though taping them isn't a necessity.
4. Kali Sticks *usually* don't have fancy designs on them. The only fancy designs I've ever seen on a Kali stick are 1/8 inch lines engraved around the stick approximately 1 inch to 2 inches from the bottomv (3-5 in total). I believe the stick that had the engraving was shorter than what I was use to (approximately 20-25 inches) and extremely thick and strong.
