5-23-2020 - NEW RARITY TIERS
This has been a long time in the making, but we finally decided to simplify the rarity system for Lockettes in order to streamline the species, something requested by members of the community for a while!
We have tried to make sure the new rarity system is fair and simple, it also allows for much more freedom with making future Lockettes!
What happens to my old MYO slots? Uncommon and Mythic?
These are still 100% valid! You are still able to use these slots as follows:
NEW COMMON:
This is a combination of the previous common and uncommon tiers, as such, you can use a previous common/uncommon MYO slot for this tier, which allows you access to all rarities from these tiers previously, as well as a few more!
You can now use the BJD body at this rarity. Chain length and tail length have been removed as a rarity, so you have freedom with this. In addition, you can now use ANY conventional weapon at this rarity as opposed to a select few.
NEW RARE:
This is a combination of Rare and Mythic tiers. You have full access to any additional features, with the exception of mutations, from having either a rare or Mythic MYO slot from before the changes were made.
MUTATIONS:
These will be available for sale at limited times on special occasions. These have not changed with the new updates, so more detailed information on them can be found in our older guide here:
BJD BODY:
This previously rare trait is now available for use on any type of lockette!

Nore than one weapon is uncommon, as it is common for Lockette to only have the one weapon, so it would be a single morning star ^o^/

Hi there!!
I'm designing a halloween-y Lockette and her charms are gonna be ghost shaped!! I was wondering if the expressions on the ghosts could alternate per charm? (For example, the charm in her left ear could be a happy ghost while the the charm in her right ear could be an angry ghost). Their overall ghost shape will stay the same; the only thing changing would be the expressions!!
I was wondering if that was possible at all?

so my mythic myo (got the slot recently from a trade with luna) will have speakers as a charm, and they have this keyhole at the side of their neck. the collar would be a pair of headphones (he has the double chain thing apparently)
would it be allowed for the keyhole to be slightly covered?
not completely as in the collar would press against their neck, just like loosely. similar to how people wear headphones irl

That would be fine, as long as some of it is still on display!
It may make your lockette feel uncomfortable though, but its not impossible!

I have a question, if I want to put a keyhole for my lockette at the nape of their neck,
but they have a collar and no embed charm (missing collar mutation),
is that possible? I think I remember that the keyhole can't be covered?

This would still be possible, yes!
It would be uncomfortable for the lockette to have it partially covered however, so in theory they would be more likely to fragment under pressure since its like their only outlet is plugged up!

Okay I wanted to use the lighter be a weapon for the lockette but I'll just make the weapon her gf weapons who is dextro and corrupted. They are like both Hit man/Assassin.

Are mutations mythic, or do they have to only be released pre approved?
How far can we go with the missing limbs?
Can the wings, as a mutation, be cut off or disembodied?
Would a bullethole shaped keyhole be accepable?

Mutations are their own rarity and cannot be purchased unless during a special sale event!
Missing limbs can involve losing an arm, however too much damage (like missing multiple limbs or most of the torso) would cause the lockette to pass, so the more limbs it is missing, the weaker they are!
I would say that missing two limbs entirely would be a 'maximum' but this is not an enforced rule :>
Wings can be disembodied or detached, yes! They could be attached using spiritual energy which is invisible~!
Though, as mentioned above, this is not something that can be purchased at this time.
Bullethole shaped keyholes woudl be fine with a mutation, but if you wanted to still use this without a mutation slot, you can use it as fragmentation <3

I have a couple of lockettes and on their approved ref you can only see the front of them, am I ok to add design to the back like fragmentation? (they're both mythic myos ;0)
And is it OK to add more weapons for them, currently they both only have one weapon each but they're able to summon more since they're mythic, right? Would I need to get the extra weapons approved? ;0

It makes it difficult to moderate the species if we allow too much to change after the design is processed ><
Minor changes are allowed to the character after the are approved, but nothing that would change their rarity

I have a question.
When I originally made my first locket, the eyes had to be the same color as the charm. Am I allowed to change the eye color since the trait has been changed so that now they no longer have to be?

make ya pay no matter how small the change is even after all the changes they've made in a species.

How much liberty can we take with the short tails? Do they always have to be poofy like a bunny tail or can they be a little longer but still small compared to the medium tail? Like a short tail reaching just above the thighs or something, sorry if this has been answered already! > <

They can be a little poofier ofc! Sometimes people prefer deer tails, puppy fluff, curled pup tails or even shorter variants of other mammal tails.
As long as they are around half-way up the thigh or shorter, they will be fine regardless of shape~!

If we had a mythic lockette, and one of their keyholes are on their forehead, is it allowed that we put the keyhole on their right eye instead? (like getting rid of the right eye and putting a keyhole as a replacement)

Is it possible for flowers to grow out of chipped places on a lockette? Or would be okay to put flowers inside chipped/missing limbs for decoration on a lockette? ^^

Thats absolutely fine!
It may feel a little unusual and take time to get used to, but any kinds of adornments are fine~
The only thing that cannot be 'plugged' or covered over is their primary keyhole~ <3

Do the charms exactly have to be inside of the lockette's ears? Can they be like "earrings"? If the charms don't have to be inside of the lockette's ears, could you show me examples where the lockettes don't have charms in their ears?

Oh no they can be around the ear, on it like an earring, but most commonly they tend to sit inside of the ear!
These are a few examples of Lockettes with alternate placements:
(Pill charm, outside of the ears)
(Crown charm, around the ears)
(Pentacle charm, outside of ears)
(bottle charm, base of ears)
