Description Now it would be a total lie to say this isn't heavily inspired by NatalieSaly 's stunning (emphasis on stunning) portrait of Bloom <3 I'm sure most of you have seen it. (If not- what are you still doing here?! Go check it out! Go go go!)

And it really pushed me further into exploring techniques. Been so frustrated bout that for so long. But looking at  Nat's portrait and seeing all these small but amazing details, made me realize that something like this should not be rushed. Because that seemed to be the goal for every art work I've done my whole life. :v I also admire her for branching out.

Right. I didn't have a better subject. So I give you Star. She looks too old  and waaaay too prettied up. Didn't exactly think it through. For the sake of practice anyway. Sansa Stark was my inspiration I guess. I was on a GoT marathon just recently.

And for now, I think this would be the last decent work I'll be updating til next year. (The future is uncertain) In fact, I should not be updating anymore. My life just flashed before my eyes earlier today when my College professor began explaining the details of our thesis. I have about a week to search for 3 proposals. Oh yeah...
oTL *cries FML

Sorry. I like to talk. I'm also just spiraling right now. The struggle is REAL.

PTS. Constructive criticism is welcomed. ^-^

Star turned out wonderfully <3 I think she looks so grown up here, she's really a beautiful and very classy looking lady :3 I really like how it looks, especially the eyes and nose and fringe and cheekbones :3

I want to know where she got her top! Those scallops in the neckline <3

Wow, thesis already? Best of luck with it Dawnie I know the struggle is real, but hang in there, you can do it

You honestly flatter me way too much by saying you were inspired by my drawing ;A; My heart sinks with overwhelming feelings of joy aaah

This is so, so beautiful!! The way you shaded the skin and lips are lovely, and that strawberry blonde hair She has a very Bella Thorne-esque vibe to her, well atleast to me haha

What I love most about this is you didn't colour in the pupils entirely black, a mistake you often spot people making. Contracted pupils can get away with this, but if they are dilated, light actually enters the vitreous body of the eye and is reflected back from the retina. I respect you for paying attention to that tiny detail which in fact makes a VERY big difference in terms of realism.

What I would suggest though, is to paint the hair with thicker brush strokes first, about the same diameter as the brush used for the skin/outfit, and then go in with a smaller brush for highlights and edges only. The trick with the hair is to mix it up a bit, because using the same sized brush can cause the entire painting to look flat, no matter how good the rest of the composition looks. Maybe you can do larger strokes at the farthest part of the hair and finer strokes in the front, like on the fringe Play around with it, hair can be annoying to draw trust me but it really brings the picture together if done well!

I guess that's enough from me, any more and I'd probably put you to sleep haha! xD Hope I helped, and thank you once again for the mention!

You should know- I've been using your old works as reference for drawing winx since I joined DA. XD

T^T thank you! D: Took a while.. then I just gave up. lol. haha. True. Especially with the bangs.

oh wow! that was one thing I didn't know. O-O I just thought black felt out of place. But thank you! And I'll remember that! Makes me realize how little I do know about realism. XD

cool! Yes you did! thank you so much for the helpful tips. (Actually, you can write an essay and I'd still read it. XD) I know I still have a long way to go >< No problem. ^^
