Finally finished this thing...Apocalypto collage pastel pencils on Velour paper. 14" x 20". Not supporting Mel Gibson's views drunk or sober, but I thought this was a great movie. The guy knows how to make films....and his commentary on the film is interesting to listen to, if anything to hear him refer to the crazy priest witch doctor as Papa Smurf.Related content

Working in color and deatil extraordinnaire. I love it because it reminds me of the covers of film (of vhs), when it was the illustrators who did... This draw is simply amazing.

Wow this is amazing I can see you have put a lot of hard work into this, I like how you have included all the important characters in the film and the important elements such as the temple. You have caught all the facial expressions brilliantly too and at vital points in the film. Brilliant work with the pastels they can be hard to work with, the shading and highlights are spot on. You have layed it out perfectly too! Agree with the description, it is a great film

I loved that film - it so well done. This is one incredible piece of artwork buddy!!! Would have looked nice as the DVD cover or a poster that came with it...

Thanks man...yeah I saw it in the theater and was quite amazed with it, the feeling of sheer hell when they enter the temples and the sacrifice scenes...doesnt get much more hopeless than that. But...he got out of it all somehow. I loved it....watched 300 last night. That holds up pretty well at home as well.

Funny you mention 300 because I was wondering how it looked on the small screen and was mulling on possibly getting a copy on DVD.
Apocalypto should have done much better at the boxoffice inspite of Mel's silly/foolish rants.

I agree, it was buried before it started. I think the guy is a genius when it comes to making films...his personal problems killed it....though I think it is finding it's way on DVD. 300 is awesome it holds up well. Testosterine rush...

LOL. I just saw Pathfinder - not bad. The costuming and overall look was awesome - just lacked good editing and the story got a little weak here and there. But totally worth checking out - you may end up painting up some of the incredible looking Vikings from it...

Beautiful work! The movie was ok, but I felt a little insulted by the fact that Mel mixed in some Aztec culture in to an made the Mayans look abit too savage. Other than that, the movie was great. I have a bit of Mayan blood running through me so I guess I am a tough critic, and an even more tough opinion.

That movie was a riot. I loved it. Mel Gibson DOES know how to put a film together; he's just a jerk that called a female cop sugartits.
