Description What are the things that influence you or inspire you. Things you take bits from and add into your own art to make it your own. I felt this was a great meme to try out.
The template is here. [link]

From top left down to bottom right.
Glen Keane, if you do not know of this amazing animator and illustrator look him up cause you've been living in a hole. He's the character designer for Rapunzel, Ariel and Tarzan. Among others. He's my biggest influence as far as style is concerned I'm sure and my affinity for drawing huge eyes.
Pretty much any character I create has some element of Scully in her. The Mulder Scully dynamic/relationship has influenced me not only in my work but in life as well.
Utamaro and Uki-yo Japanese drawings in Edo drew me in to the culture of Japan and is one of my only Eastern influences.
Bri-Chan was one of the first people I found on DA and her portrayals of Disney princess' makes my heart happy and gives them new life and makes them more realistic. Plus she's a super humble talented artist which makes me love her even more.
Bruce Timm created such an iconic style working on Batman: The Animated Series. I've taken a lot of his curvy style and cell shading style. I've met him in person and he just seemed so cranky. It was like learning Santa isn't real. But in his defense he was being swamped by multiple Harley Quinn fangirls all day.
Claire Keane is one of my newest influences, her style is beautiful, colorful and flat out amazing. It helps that she's my number one inspiration's daughter and the hand behind all of Rapunzel's art from Tangled. Whimsy is a running theme here I'm seeing. Her blog is here. [link]
Arylicana is another recent influence. The Tokyo pop putting eyes on cute things is pretty popular right now and I'm seeing how I can fit some of it into my work.
Tim Burton's dark yet cute features have always had a place in my heart I remember loving Lydia Deets when I was a girl, not related but Wednesday Adams was always my hero growing up too.
I fell in love with Laurie B's work when I met her at the Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle last year. Her work was mostly comprised of pin ups of popular geek culture cuties which is something I've been toying with a lot. I later found her on DA so that I could keep following her. She also helps by providing instructional videos on the Pencil Kings website. [link] Unfortunately it costs money but it is so informative for those that can't afford art school.
More Japanese influence by Hayao Miyazaki. He is responsible for Howl's Moving Castle, Ponyo, Spirited Away among many others I'm sure you love. I love his storytelling style as well as his BEAUTIFUL landscapes and settings. I don't really watch anime but this stuff is amazing and lets people kind of ease into the style if they are not used to it.
Artemisia Gentileschi is like my classical influence doppelganger, except she was way more talented than I ever will be. Her depiction of full/normal sized women and beautiful use of Chiaroscuro drew me to her work during one of my art history courses. Her story made me love her even more. She was a woman in a mans world and if I've ever commented on anything of yours you'll see her quote in my signature. "I read in the work of an astrologer from your time that fate is what happens to you, destiny is what you make of it."
I recreated her self portrait with acrylic paint. One day I'd love to try out oils.

She studied under my next and final influence Caravaggio, I put them next to each other so that you could see some of their similarities. His rendering and mastering of chiaroscuro
is amazing.
I'm pretty sure this is the longest description ever and that I'll ever write but there you have it. What influences me.
