Read your tutorial. For what it's worth, thought I'd let you know how I use it. First draw your shape. Then draw a box and rotate it in the general flow of your art, making sure it's bigger than you shape on all sides. Use the shape as a mask and the box as the gradient mesh. I find this gives me greater control and makes working w/complex shapes a lot easier. It also allows me to have the gradient flow outside the shape w/o being restricted by the shape.

That's a great idea!! I know working with gradient mesh and odd shapes can be a HUGE pain in the neck not to mention very fustrating and time consuming.

I'll have to try that on the next gradient mesh I work on.

I know I'd almost given up on the gradient mesh tool at first becuz I found it very frustrating being limited by shape I was working with. Then one day a little light went off in my head, and now I really enjoy the GM tool. I almost didn't say anything, cuz I know some people can be real sensitive about their work, and I didn't want you to think I didn't like your work. I do like your work! Hope this helps expand your capabilities!
