Description It's a cliche but I like drawing Wolverine. He has a nice flexibility like Spidey or Batman where you can have fun with him and his proportions and it can still look pretty cool.

Marker, white paint and color pencil on Canson Mi-Tientes paper

Hey why aren't you doing comics? Or are you? I've never seen your work anywhere but deviantart. You could do covers and such at least... you're better than the majority out there.

i love this piece... trying a reproduction of it myself (just for practice wont post on here or anything )
i was wondering, how large a scale are these pieces?
you get such sharp edges with your copics but i find they bleed quite a bit on the mi tientes paper...

tips?

I am COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY by this one Chris! Ghee! It's a instant fav. Where do you buy your majic Prismas at? Mine don't work like this. LOL

ChristopherStevens In reply to kkirven [2010-03-04 05:20:33 +0000 UTC]

LOL, thanks, Karl. Have you tried color paper yet? It's much more forgiving with marker than regular white paper is. But...in all seriousness, it's the paint that really matters on these moreso than the marker.

Thanks, I think it's the white paint on the color paper. Really makes anything you paint white pop out.

And another thing...how do you get that cool almost wet or latex look on the gloves ( like the one that is furthest back? its a cool effect.

just too cool.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ChristopherStevens In reply to Kevin-Sharpe [2010-03-04 04:57:28 +0000 UTC]

Wet or shiny is all about contrast. Anything wet or shiny has to have a good amount of hot highlights next to dark. It's the sharp contrast that creates the effect of shiny. Thanks!
