This tutorial is very definitive and tells you how to put the layers in order and the brush settings. It includes pictures that help to see if your doing something wrong or right. I haven't seen that many lightning tutorials out here on Deviantart. and has a nice conclusion and introduction. At the start it says to look at lightning and stuff like that in order to get a basic idea/reference of lightning for an easer start on this tutorial. I don't really know what else to add, so this is a great tutorial. It helped me kind of get how to draw and make the glow of a lightning bolt.

I built a Van Der Graaf generator when I was 8, and that was just the start. Your final lightning bolt looks shockingly real... more real than the actual thing, as strange as that sounds.
I'd love to see your make a pic with the same kinds of textures, but maybe with a black and red and violet streaking the lightning. You could create a very evil look to something, but keep that elegance of form.
