Description
Aaaaaaah I'm so exited to post an "official" picture of this boy! I've had his concept rattling around in my brain for a couple months now, and I finally cranked out some art for him. Meet Morningstar, the son of Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle! (Special thanks to Lopoddity, whose headcanons about Sunset and Midnight Abyss gave rise to this character in the first place )yes the name parallel is intentional, he's my guilty pleasure edgy son and I love him sm

Morning Light "Morningstar" Sparkle (Twilight Sparkle x Sunset Shimmer)
- He/they (demiboy)
- Bisexual (male-leaning)
- Unicorn with inherited demon characteristics (has functioning wings, but no pegasi magic)
- Heir to the Throne of Friendship
- Optional voice claim(s): TBD
As Morning grows older, and as his responsibilities become more substantial, he starts to develop strange qualities. Fangs emerge in place of some of his baby teeth. The nubs of secondary crimson horns poke out from his mane. His pupils narrow without warning, distorting his vision. His magical abilities spike to levels he's not prepared to handle. While these changes are temporary at first — flaring up in moments of extreme distress or emotion — they horrify the young stallion, who sees his 'perfect prince' image fading.
He's turning into a monster.
What Morning quickly realizes is that these changes are leftover remnants of his mother's time as a she-demon. While Sunset herself had recovered from her bout of villainy, she unwittingly passed certain traits onto her son — traits that were responding to the pressure placed on Morning by himself and others.
Discouraged from confiding in others about his situation, Morningstar seeks his own solutions, hiding his 'unsavory' characteristics with spells and clothing and pouring himself into research dedicated to stopping them from reappearing. Some of his solutions are semi-successful; others fail spectacularly. He pushes himself even harder in his responsibilities, desperate to convince himself that he can still be the pony everyone expects him to be.
As time progresses, Morning's symptoms grow only worse. A sickening pair of wings sprouts from his back in times of duress, causing him to wear a cloak to hide their scars. He avoids ponies more than ever before, bitter and stressed and lonely.
A (literal) nagging voice in his ear convinces him that he'll never be what Equestria needs — and thus comes Morningstar.

There are some other elements of Morning's past and character I'd like to flesh out, but I'll leave it there for now. I hope y'all enjoy him as much as I do. :3 Happy Easter holiday to those who celebrate, and a good day to everyone!
