Bust reference/concept art of a character I adopted from ! I made some minor changes to better fit my vision for her (namely changing the pink in her mane to white), and I might continue to adjust her down the line, but I'm pretty satisfied with her for now! Huge props to her original creator, I love her sm. Definitely check them out because they've got some great designs and fanart.

This little lass is Sunshower Mist, the daughter of Lightning Dust and Vapor Trail! I think this ship has a ton of potential, especially in terms of character growth for Lightning, and I'm super stoked to finally have a design I like for one of their kids. I'm considering having Zephyr Breeze act as a sperm donor and biological father for her (mostly due to coincidences in their color palettes), but we'll see if I follow through with it. The ideas I have for her a little underdeveloped and vague thus far, but I wanted to include what I was thinking anyway for my own sake.

Sunny is her mothers' personal ray of sunshine. Outgoing, uplifting, and optimistic to a fault, she's an absolute sweetheart of a pegasus — if a little naive and idealistic at times. Her beaming smile and infectious laugh can light up any room, and she's a great source of inspiration for all those near and dear to her. While she has her off days like any other pony, very few have ever seen her at her worst, and she's treasured for her genuinely sunny disposition.

Unlike her parents, Misty isn't super interested in flying competitively, and she much prefers playing the supportive role and helping others achieve their dreams. In school, she was always the first to offer aid to a struggling peer or miss out on a winning shot to help an opponent off the ground, and this mentality sticks with her to present day. She constantly puts herself and her ambitions on the back burner to tend to those around her, though she insists it's what she prefers. She's a solid source of support and advice for all of her friends and family, and her words of encouragement have inspired many of her peers to follow their hearts.

Growing up with Lightning and Vapor, Sunny was exposed to the world of flying at a young age and learned plenty about the ins and outs of the competitive flying scene. She would often serve as a 'helper' of sorts to Vapor's Wonderbolt team, tending to injuries and bringing out refreshments after performances. While she's never been inclined to race, Vapor Trail insists that Sunshower has potential as a future coach and/or personal trainer — careers that Vapor herself considered before settling into her Wonderbolts position. For now, Sunny remains content with her part-time jobs at the weather factory and flower shop... but she does keep the idea in the back of her mind.

Other miscellaneous facts about her:

- Sunny identifies as pansexual and regularly attends pride with her mothers. It's a bit of a family tradition for them.

- Though I haven't designed it yet, I imagine Sunshower's cutie mark is very similar to Cheerilee's — some kind of sun symbolic of her natural affinity for lifting others up.

- Sunny has heterochromia — two differently colored eyes.

- Sunny is passionate about horticulture, leading to her take a job at Ponyville's flower shop. She can't explain why, but plants just fascinate her! Maybe it's the way they seem to make ponies smile. If given the opportunity, she'll babble for hours about her favorite kinds of flowers and various plant facts. She also enjoys sending out bouquets for special occasions.

- Sunny attracts a lot of attention from all kinds of suitors. She has a hard time finding a partner because she usually ends up inadvertently helping her dates find special someponies outside of herself when she goes out. Oh well, at least she was able to help!

- As her name suggests, Sunny's flight trail is a light, refreshing mist. She uses this to tend to her personal flower garden with little 'sun showers'.
