Description
A while ago, I decided to rewrite and rework one of my first fanfiction series that tied into The World Ends With You. The main thing around the first story is that the main protagonist’s game went horribly wrong and she was dragged into the world and has to fight to get out. The second one has a reverse concept, though the original had less combat involved.

The biggest difference is the characterization, the plot structure, and the events. Penerope has remained surprisingly consistent design wise despite how much everything has changed around her.

Penerope Shiro (15 y/o; human/video game hybrid as result of her escape)
Brand Alignment: Lapin Angelique (fashion choices are a mix of gothic lolita and pastel goth)

Penerope is a girl who is gifted academically, musically with her violin and voice, as well as with her skills with games. However, her deep rooted trust issues with other people causes her let very few in and keeps most people out. She tends to get very absorbed into what she’s doing, and primarily goes out with friends mostly if they ask her to. Her experience getting literally dragged into TWEWY has left her being a hybrid (as if she didn’t find herself weird enough already), and with her own reality being unsure how to handle her in the aftermath, her existence and powers have become unstable and dangerous as they grow more powerful.

Akira Yamada (15 y/o; human)
Brand Alignment: Dragon Couture/Pegaso (fashion choices are more on the formal side and are monochromatic)

Akira is one of Penerope’s longest friends and yet the one she butts heads the most with. Due to his wealthy upbringing and his standing as a piano prodigy, he tends to be a bit out of touch with the rest of the group and mainly prioritizes his music. Tends to come off as headstrong, cold, and fierce with his temperament commonly being compared to a dragon. Has a massive crush on Penerope which he mostly masks well but his issues with jealousy and a fear of losing her can cause him to be quite unforgiving to those he perceives as a threat. Is a fast learner, but doesn’t have much patience with video games.

Rin Uendo (15 y/o; human)
Brand Alignment: Wild Boar/Jupiter of the Monkey (fashion choices are masculine and sporty)

Rin has been one of Penerope’s friends since middle school. Her appearance and brash temperament have caused her to have a delinquent label besides her tendency towards fighting. Even though she isn’t the best academically, she’s very street smart. Was formerly in martial arts, but her parents pulled her out of it as they felt like it was contributing to her boyish and reckless behavior. Very passionate, genuine, and strives to protect those she cares about, but feels very insecure about her little femininity and rejects it as part of her identity.
