Description The diesel event I attended was the Keighley and Worth Valley Railways diesel gala on 12th June. Upon arrival, I passed over the shed at Haworth, and returned to capture the lineup of traction stabled there at that time. From left to right: Class 08 shunter number 08266, British Rail Class 25 number D5185 "Castell Dinas Bran", DRS Class 37 number 37194, British Rail Class 33 number 33109, British Rail Class 37 number 37901 "Mirlees Pioneer", WCRC Class 37 number 37706 and English Electric prototype diesel shunter number D0226 "Vulcan".

*whistles*
that's a nice collection of diesels there.. not as fancy as steam, but efficient. And I like the bright yellow fronts (and backs ) against the drab browns and greys, and the brown and greys against the lively green trees.. love it

CJSutcliffe In reply to TheMightyQuinn [2010-06-17 11:27:43 +0000 UTC]

This I am aware of, it seems with meets like this it turns into a competition of how many identical shots can we get in one day?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheMightyQuinn In reply to CJSutcliffe [2010-06-17 11:43:56 +0000 UTC]

I guess you guys should compare your work and turn it into a learning process...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CJSutcliffe In reply to TheMightyQuinn [2010-06-17 12:00:09 +0000 UTC]

We did, we asked people on here to compare shots and state the best bits of each, however some people got a tad wound up by it, and now it's just a little joke we carry out on here.

I'm American, but I still always liked the British locomotives better for some reason.
Maybe because they have the yellow ends.

I agree, pukka British diesel traction, none of the American/European built shite we have now...

Nice to see so many British classics all grouped together in one place like this. Very nice angle as well, taken from a brilliant vantage point. Nice stuff indeed

CJSutcliffe In reply to Loveable-Retard [2010-06-16 19:07:23 +0000 UTC]

That road is really quite handy, even though you have to risk life and limb getting the shot. To me though, this is what a British motive power depot should look like...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Loveable-Retard In reply to CJSutcliffe [2010-06-17 20:33:35 +0000 UTC]

As in all-British locomotives inhabiting an old steam shed? Totally agreed with you there mate.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CJSutcliffe In reply to Loveable-Retard [2010-06-18 01:30:24 +0000 UTC]

Ok, minus the steam shed. Steam shed for steam, metal corrugated iron shed for diesel

irwingcommand [2010-06-15 22:31:39 +0000 UTC]

Such a good location for a road bridge.
Shame it hasn't got a pavement and you have to stand in the road to take this shot.
