Few..i'm so happy this is finally finished. Morgan Freeman as "Red" in Shawshank Redemption...with a nice "P*ss-warm" bottle of bohemian style beer...delicious.The portrait itself took me around 15 hours maybe more, too long really for what it turned out like. I used photoshop and tablet with basic round airbrushes on the whole portrait.
I then decided to make it a little more fun, trying out a billboard type thing...im still learning photoshop techniques so thought it would be fun to apply some on here.
its all just a load of layers and channels and stuff...
and then ofcourse a little quote by Andy/Tim Robbins from the film.
Let me know what you think, good or bad id love to hear it.
p.s. i cant wait to try out PS CS5..whos tried it already? looks so much fun..

I actually thought this was an ad. I haven't seen the full movie,just bits here and there.
The tones of this are really impressive and i think you caught his very well as this character.
I guess the only question I have is, is your technique the reason this looks like it's in panels,or sections?

Yes it was meant as a billboard type effect, i wanted to look as though it is an ad put up in strips like wallpaper, you may of noticed on some billboards how sometimes each strip is printed in a slightly different tone to the one next to it?! But i have to admit this was not done as well as it could have been, i got impatient and rushed it a little by this point.

how did i miss this. he is easily on of my favourite actors. yet to see the shawshank redemption though. he was kick ass in "the bucket list"

Wow, this is great, the creases in his face are amazing, and I love how vintage the entire piece looks!
