Description
The societyThis society we’re in now and today has always been in is so jacked up.
We have the people who decide what is right based off of personal opinions and yet they are only one person and one opinion. Where do they get the right to decide anyone who shops and a thrift shop is poor, or anyone who likes sports is a jock? Where do they get the right to decide that anyone who likes hot topic is goth or that anyone who shops at name brands is a prep?
We have the people who think they fit in. Where do they fit? One crowd, one place, on clique and ONE MORE CLICHÉ.
Then we have the people who think they are ‘different’. They do the goth and emo look. They dye their hair and shop at hot topic. They pierce and ink to prove it. They listen to heavy metal and prove it with T-shirts. They are different. But who exactly are they different from? The other clique? The ones who shop at Abercrombie? Or do they think that no one understands how they are different. WHAT ABOUT THE BAZILLIONS OF OTHER HOT TOPIC SHOPPERS? What about the bazillions of other goth bunnies and inked ups’? Draw a line. Different is only different if it isn’t accepted, and just because a different clique won’t accept you doesn’t make you not accepted.
Get over yourself. You’re not different like hot topic wants you to think you are or because you think about death and wear chains. Just because you say fuck too much and write poetry about your sad sorry life DOES NOT make you different. Just because Spencers and Vampire Freaks says that your not accepted and different doesn’t make it happen; it means your exactly the same… Exactly the same as the rest of the ones who believe all that BULL SHIT.
You will never be different because of what you wear, or because of where you shop or who you approve of.
Would you like to know the real difference between people? Their thoughts, their ideas, WHAT THEY THINK.
People have never made a difference because of what they wear. People have never changed the world with a baggy pair of pants or a designer shirt. What people have changed the world with are ideas. Thoughts, religion, what they believe is right!
AND THAT DOES NOT MEAN THINKING THE WAY HOT TOPIC OR SOME BAND TELLS YOU TO THINK! It means provoking change, fighting for your beliefs, thinking for yourself and only yourself. Making decisions the way you truly believe will make things better.
Just because My Chemical Romance tells you to that life is meaningless and Marilyn Manson tells you to be pissed doesn’t mean you have to be.
Choosing to believe and blind obedience are two different things, different things that people have been confusing a lot lately.
Be different, not the generic brand that hot topic has been selling, but the kind that only yourself can manufacture…

Fight the powere Ambee. I may be a bit emotional and depressed sometimes, but I laugh too. I like black, but thats cuz it looks good on me. I hate it when people take one glance at me and say emo. Or goth, punk, etc. I'm glad to know I picked friends who don't believe in labels.

I agree wholeheartedly! It seems like folks think there MUST be a label, and if not they come up with one. Glad to see someone speak out about it!

Venting is a necessary thing. But I like your train of thought!
