Kathy gazed out from her porcelain prison, as she did everyday since she had been trapped there; sorrow filled her eyes as she watched people pass. Occasionally they commented on the realism of the eyes and she saw they knew, she’d scream at them, no noise erupting from the pursed pink lips. But eventually the effect of her eyes wore off on them and they walked on by, leaving her on her own.
The nights were the worst, her hope would fade with the light as she realised she would have to spend another night scared and alone. She had tried to push herself off the hook on the wall, to smash on the forgiving ground, but she couldn’t, she was trapped.
The light would stream through the shutters, awakening her from the small amount of rest she had managed to get. The glass doors would open and people came flooding in, the normal bustle as they walked past her, occasionally stopping to look. That’s when the shoulder approached her, smash, she fell to the ground. Relief flooded through her, then she realised this was it, no release, no more chances. Silently she cried out.
