Description
I think my shutter was at 1/25, and my ISO was probably 800, and there was no contrast in the eerie light. We call it "tornado light" here in Kansas, and it is as much a symptom of spring as the blossoms of the native red bud and the beautiful song of our friend, a male house finch, whose colors have just attracted a mate. I was young once too, in spring. There was a girl, but I can't remember it well, due to the shallow depth of the light, and the storm of embrace. But the colors remain like ribbons in my life, and there are four granddaughters too, who will have their own storms.Related content

This piece is absolutely stunning. I love it, completely and wholly! I love your adorable little subject - what a beautiful creature it is - too! It looks like there's a beach in the background, perhaps? The placing adds a lot of depth to the piece.
I think the sandy and blue tones, as well as the pink flowers, contrast with the red of the bird in a really interesting and unique way.
I love this. <33 Really beautiful. A photographer (and digital artist) myself, I can really appreciate how hard and long you must've had to wait and how many moments you spent holding your breath as you searched intuitively for the exact perfect angle. And I think you found the sweet spot in this scene.

I couldn't believe it myself. His brown becomes so beautiful surrounded by color, and see the touches of red on his back? The common is incredible when we see it right. Β
