Description Guess who got super into Artemis Fowl recently? And then quickly came to the realization that this series gets way less attention than it deserves and has the tiniest online fanbase I've ever seen... As in they basically don't exist online. It saddens me to think that if this series had come out when online fandoms were in full swing, we would have a LOT more fan-art, fan-videos, etc. But instead when you look up "Artemis Fowl fan-art", you get a couple of cute sketches from Tumblr (or someone's ancient DeviantArt) and then a ton of screenshots of the graphic novel adaptations. Or just, like... a cropped image of a book cover. Although I love the new book covers a LOT and think they're absolutely stunning so hey we'll count that as Artemis Fowl fan art.

Uhhh all I gotta say is... Please go read it. This series deserves so much love. It was really popular when I was a little kid, but I didn't read it until now. What's crazy to me is that like halfway through book 1, it hit me: "If I were still 11 years old, I would have THE biggest crush on Artemis, wouldn't I?" and then I ended up going back and analyzing every fictional character that I had a crush on around age 11, and I was pretty disgusted to realize that it's... actually really good I didn't read Artemis Fowl earlier. Because preteen/young teen me had the BIGGEST obsession with any character that was intelligent, had a dark story, yada yada. My obsession with Doctor Who, and with BBC's Sherlock was waaaaay too real. It didn't matter what the character looked like, as long as they were like: "I'm smarter than everyone else. " I would be like: "and ur also my husband lol". Hence my huge love for Moriarty at age thirteen.

Anyways that's the story of how I was a huge NERD HAHAHAHA WHAT A FRICKEN LOSER.
