Description Comparing the new to the old. :'D

For some reason I had it in my mind that the old one was from March of last year. So when I re-checked the date and saw that it was TWO years ago, also in October, I was like: "WhhhhAAA?!" *Sobs and smiles at the same time* NOSTALGIA.

Holy crap. So. much. IMPROVEMENT.

Like, everything just became so much more detailed! And the expressions, don't get me started on the expressions. This is awesome, great job!

*Screams into a pillow and dies*

THANK YOU. I've been working SO hard on expressions, backgrounds, poses--all the stuff that I struggled with for so long. :'D It's just... Asdfgh. And I can still remember sitting in front of a digital canvas little over a year ago, unable to process how to pose stuff. My brain. IT GREW.

You're welcome! And ugh, I remember doing the same thing! It's amazing how you can look at something that you thought was perfectly fine when you first drew it, but then look back at it like, half a year later and think "what was I thinking?!"

IKR? Like, my brain could legitimately not understand how to draw a leg doing a certain thing. And I remember, because it used to frustrate the CRAP out of me. Like, I can mentally look at a dog. See the dog. Be the dog. But I couldn't DRAW the dog.

Aw, I still have trouble with that xD Like, it's gotten better, of course. For example, I don't have to search up a reference for a hand EVERY time I draw one. But, I still hate it when I picture something in my head PERFECTLY, yet I can't seem to copy it down on paper.

Yeeeah, references... My problem is that I am extremely stubborn. So if I want to draw something, I will MAKE myself learn how to draw that thing. And it reaches a point where I forget that Google exists... So for the few times that I actually look up a hand/pose reference, I'm like: "WHA, this is so much easier?! Why don't I do this ALL the time?"

That's probably why I've been more satisfied with my art lately... Because if it doesn't look quite how it looks in my head, I'll keep trying and trying andtryingandtrying until little my little OCD brain is happy. x'D

Haaaa me too. Now I'm like REFERENCES. GIVE ME ALL OF THEM

It has gotten way easier to draw things that I picture in my heard correctly, and I'm proud of myself for that. But I feel like I don't go all the way and work on them as much as I need to. I'm kinda just like "meh, close enough." And I really need to work on that

IKR? I seriously got so stubborn that I refuse the help of Google Images. Until I really, really need it. Which is not always good, heh...

Hmm... Yeah, that makes sense. I think most artists have probably felt that before.

What I find sad is when people say stuff like: "How are you so much better than me? I've been practicing for just as long! I'm a HORRIBLE artist..." And I'm sitting here, like... Dude. I practice EVERYDAY. I have made it my personal goal about three years ago to draw EVERY. DAY. Just practice. You're not a horrible artist--just discipline yourself, practice at least fifteen minutes a day... And soon it'll be way faster, funner, and less frustrating than it was at first. xD You'll be able to draw your OCs and such the way you've always wanted to--but it takes time, and practice.

I guess one of my pet peeves in the artist world, is when people say: "I'm a horrible artist."

Yeah, I know how that is. I have one friend who has this really cute cartoony style, and she's also a WIZ with copic markers. But every time she shows me one of her drawings she complains about how "horrible" it is. And I'm like "bro, really?." And it's hard to be encouraging when she keeps complaining about how "bad" her own work is, when really, it's not bad at all. I guess it's become a sort of stereotype for artists to think that there own work is bad, but I try not to be like that, and graciously accept compliments whenever I get them.

HA, yeah. xD I always get a little embarrassed when people compliment me in real life, but I try not to be like: "Ugh, NO this is terrible don't look at it!" Which is definitely a stereotype. It's true that you are your own worst critic--but some people (a lot of them, actually) do that for attention. Even if they don't realize they're doing it for attention.

One time a couple kids my age were flipping through my sketchbook, complimenting certain drawings, and I would just sort of say 'thank you' because I was a little nervous. xD

And then one of them said: "You know, I really like that you don't complain! It's just so nice that you don't complain, because I have a friend who is an AMAZING artist--you should meet her!--but she always says that her stuff is horrible, when it's actually REALLY good! And I can't even draw stick-men--so it's a little annoying when she says that her art is bad. Like, dude! Your art isn't bad!"

...Well, there you go artist world. Words from an outsider. xD

Yeah, a guy who was friends with the friend I just told you about told me the same thing!

While It never hurts to criticize yourself and strive for improvement, it's also important to feel good about drawing so you don't constantly keep putting yourself down.

I forgot what my signature is, but it was recently changed to something I actually said... Because somebody asked me too. x'D Otherwise, I feel silly quoting myself.

Woah man, you seriously improved a lot! :'0

I really like how your use of colour has gotten better, I mean, the colours are really pleasing to look at in the re-done page. ;u; Also the expressions have improved so much! You can literally see how they're feeling in those situations and the poses are much more dynamic as well! :"D

Great job, really! Keep on improving, your art is getting really good!
