Description
Steampunk meets Cyberpunkwell, since I quit my job i can finally start working on some steampunk / cyberpunk sculptures. This is the first one made from a very old mink skull.
There's a lot of detail here - gears from various watches, the teeth are from modern watches, then there is lots of careful wirework that is matching on the sides and threads through the nasal passages or through the optic nerve passage - out the back of the skull.
It seems a shame to put it in a shadow box... so if someone buys it I hope they'll put it on a glass shelf and pick it up once in a while. its delicate but not *that* delicate that I had any issues working on it.
At the back i've added in a nice vertabrae to extend it a bit.
She's about 3inches long.

O_O .....my heart just skipped a beat.....hun...you hit something in me that i didnt think could be hit by jewelry. i love this piece more so than any other you have done so far. i only wish that i wasnt flat broke (serriously, i only have $68 to my name....)
stunning, i love this and if i did have the money it would be a mainstay in my living room...among all the other skills.

Beautifully done! I agree, it needs to be handled once in a while. It would be a sin to lock it away, the preciousss.

I'm good thanks, and I hope all is well with you too!!!!! You'll be fine I'm sure once you get into the swing of things!
I know that once college lets out for the summer I want to sell some of the jewelry I've made as well, in addition to making new pieces b/c I miss not getting to do it as often as I like. And I was wondering if you could give me some tips and advice about etsy. I really appreciate you help, and again your work is amazing!! thanks again!!

let me know what i can do it takes time to build up a good shop. One tip: space out your uploads so that when someone searches the category your stuff doesn't get buried as fast. You should look at your market - who you want to buy your work and try and think of a memorable icon and shop name. Do look at the chats when you have a few things up. If you buy supplies - buy them from a few other sellers on etsy. it creates good feedback

This is sort of gross in the best possible way.
I like the organic-y wires!

I have that same skull.
I found it on the side of the road when i was walking in the mountains.
Do you know what animal it's from?

wow really! I believe this is a mink skull. mine was lacking the cainines. if there ae no mink in your area see if you can check for a relative in the family.

Yeah, no minks in the desert/mountains. I was thinking it might be a fox squirrel. mines to small to be a fox, and way to small to be a coyote.

It's too preety to be kept hidden somewhere... this needs to be on display!
By the way, do you mind if I make a few drawings based on your jewelry?

i've never heard of cyberdog. but i love the name. the wires pass through the into the skull via the natural holes - where say the optic nerve would go - and then out through the back of the skull.
i'm going to go find cyberdog now!
