Under other circumstances there might be pleasure, here the nudity stands for utter exposure and vulnerability of these exploited young women, however the tragedy finally brought about the necessary changes!
β’ It was the deadliest workplace accident in New York Cityβs history. A dropped match on the 8th floor of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory sparked a fire that killed over a hundred innocent people trapped inside.

Ah I see,
tragedy and pain in the workplace.
I have no time for watching so I read instead.
Industrial accidents are often white collar crimes.
'and the door to the Washington Square stairway was locked to prevent theft. The foreman who held the stairway door key had already escaped by another route'
This however is fairly evil.
This disaster (?) could have been prevented and was possibly started by
one of the workers.
Yet the many deaths could and should have never happened.
It is so often the way that there are sacrifices (unwilling) made to protect others.
On a dark yet powerful moment of reading this story
One part stuck out for me
Perhaps crystallizing the humanity of this event for me
Even during the in the awfulness
of imminent pain and death.
There was somehow love in this piece
βanother man was seen kissing a young woman at the window before they both jumped to their deathsβ
