Description
With Christmas creeping slowly forward I have decided to begin the process of madly stitching a few presents. This is a present to remind one of my friends about a silly adventure to visit a flock of sheep in a car that really wasn't designed to be a field bash-about. I'm not going to elborate further in case the individual is reading. The piece contains whole and back stitches on a 14 count plastic canvas. I had a lot of fun doing this piece as it is very cartoon like however did not enjoy photographing and cutting the final piece in Photoshop. It is very difficult to present as due to its rounded ends. I hope you all enjoy though.

The colors are wonderful! I wanted to make cross-sticths presents for Christmas too but since my problems my head isn't quite well yet to think about presents. But now that I think about it is always a good think to get us distrated.

There is just not enough time to cross stitch all the presents. I wish I could.

I LOVE sheep! This is too cute. Where I'm from there are many sheep farmers (predominantly Irish farmers around that neck of the world) and I sometimes do little projects like this and make magnets for the fridge or little pictures for the wall.............someday I will have a kitchen again to decorate

Magnets would be an awesome project but I am yet to go and find plastic canvas not in kits. Thank you for all your kind words and I hope you have kitchen soon to decorate.

* Plastic canvas is difficult to locate which is unfortunate as I keen to use it make some fridge magnets as I was inspired by someone who make Pokemon Fridge Magnets.
* By the way how is your adventure going?

My weekend was quite lovely thank you for asking! I am almost done with the cross stitch I had to put down back in May, and I have to say it is turning out really beautifully. I've been considering doing some little things, bookmarks and the like with knotwork since that seems to be what's on my mind lately.
I am still looking for the plastic canvas. It's really bothering me that such a simple thing isn't sold separately and there MUST be a place. It's time to get creative with my search!

* He he he. I am the opposite. I have quite a number of little things that I have to work on for Christmas, so I am in the mood to work on something larger.
* I might ask the Cross Stitch Store I purchase from in Victoria if they can order some of the stuff in.

I've been over worked (the overlapping jobs) but VERY pleased with my decision. And how is YOUR new job working for you?

Plastic canvas is great to work with for a change every once in a while!!

Absolutely. One thing I like about canvas is how nice, tight and plush the stitching looks when it is complete. Backs always look awful for me on plastic canvas though.

I think the stiffness of the canvas makes it hard to weave the thread under on the back. Then again, I mount a good amount of my plastic pieces on felt, so you can't see the backs anyway. I cheat

Nothing wrong with cheating, especially if you are skilled at it. I tried to cover up the back of a piece once with fabric but it didn't turned out terribly well as I am not very good with sewing. So never tried the process again.

My favorite for plastic pieces is self-adhesive felt. It's really sticky so I just put it on then trim plastic and felt down to size. Very convenient, try looking around to see if you can find it!!

The doofus told me on facebook that my house was in "grave danger." I'm not a farmer! :'(

No you aren't a farmer. But the sheep in the piece probably know a farmer. Your house is safe from me as I'm too busy dreaming away. I finished the Twilight Series last night and I can't wait till the next one comes out.
