Mini FAQ:Q: How and where do I buy magic potions?
A: Most are free. However, there are now unlockable potions available through the kaaring system. Keep in mind these are unavailable until you've reached the kaaring level required to unlock them. You can find more info on those in the kaaring journal.
Q: Can I make up my own potion?
A: No. Doing so will result in your Nordanner being taken away from you. Playing around with magic is dangerous for your horse. Only a true wizard from Aleria can make Nordanner magic, so you may either use the free ones or earn them through the kaaring system. NEVER MAKE MAGIC YOURSELF!
Q: How long does a potion last?
A: As long as you want it to!
Q: Can I use more than one potion on my horse?
A: Your horse can have all the potions you want. But it might look funky glowing in all those colors.
Q: Can I use these potions on my regular horses?
A: No, this kind of magic is made specific for Nordanner, so would not work.
Q: What about items related to magic like charms? Do they affect the horse?
A: Only wizards from Aleria know the royal secret to making potions that work on the Nordanner horse, so charms would have limited effect. Some good luck charms etc might work a bit, but it would be better to use them on the rider/handler instead of the horse.
Q: Can I remove/hide a potion I don't like?
A: Of course!
Q: Can I draw the potions I intend to use on my horses' official reference?
A: ONLY if it doesn't heavily obscure the designs. References should always be as clean as possible to prevent cheating.

These are all amazing c: If a Nordanner had Nightshade, will the coat colour become darker? My nordy is quite light, and black wings probably wouldn't look the best on him xD

Glad you like them! Potions can do lots of things but they shouldn't drastically alter designs like that--I'd rather not get into the issue of people using them to make their horse whatever color they feel like.

So to obtain these free potions how do we do that? Like if I wanted my alt to have oceanpearl; do I just say "he has oceanpearl now"? That seems too easy.

Pretty much! It used to be that you had to pay for them via kaaring or points but now that they're free that really is all you have to do ^^ You can always make it more of a challenge if you like or if it fits your story better.

We don't have a potion specifically for that but people have done some interesting things with Goldwing and Nightshade in particular ^^

No, originally you did but these potions are free now (: The only ones you can't immediately used are the ones that are unlockable via kaaring, which are listed on the journal linked up there. Be sure to read the descriptions on these old sheets as I don't have the psd and they are pretty out-dated.

I'd say so, I think I've seen that done before (I think?) and seems acceptable with all the psycho things Nightshade can do.
