My friend asked for some tips on cosplaying, so I decided to type up some tips for you guys also! hopefully these are helpful, these are simple tips that are for people who want to do a stunning cosplay.

Tip #1: Study. your. character! This is important! Characters have their own manorisms and special little quirks which make the character and fans of the character know this. They also might have some special little things about their appearance that you normally wouldn't see without studying the character. Such as Deidara's hand mouths or Sasori's puppet lines.

Tip #2: Be picky about your wig. To me, one of the most important things for a cosplay is the wig. Wigs make cosplayers doing the same person different. Try to get your wig as close to the characters hair as possible. You wouldn't want to have dark brown hair and decide 'I'm going to do Deidara', its insulting to the fans and it disrespects the character.

Tip #3: Always wear makeup! Period. Atleast wear some foundation. I always wear foundation and wear eyeliner no matter who I am doing. Eyeliner helps make your eyes standout and anime characters have more bolder eyes than us as humans. I'm not saying go wear heavy eye shadow and black lip stick, no. unless the character wears stuff like that, don't do it. Please, we don't want to see you cosplaying kenpachi and have light blue eye shadow on! Keep it simple, natural and true to the character.

Tip #4: Ok this is a given, TAKE OFF YOUR JEWELERY! That includes; necklaces, piercings, rings, bracelets. Just take it off, it can completely ruin a character. You wouldn't want to see a Ichigo with big hoop earrings and a heart necklace, again its insulting to the fans and disrespects the character. Thats also the other way around, if the character has defining jewelery it would be good to purchase it. Ex: I will be doing Hidan in the winter and I will be purchasing a Jashin Necklace.

Tip #5: Stay in shape. This is harder to do, but it helps alot! Majority of anime characters are skinny and muscular. For example, I did physical training with a trainer for 3 months in order to do Deidara. It was tough but it was worth it If you are doing apetite feminine character, buy your costume big! You can always add pins to make it tighter but if its looser then you will look thinner.

Tip #6: As always, be careful who you choose to cosplay. If you are looking to be noticed at a con, be a character that is hardly ever done and take months to perfect them before you show it off..PUT TIME IN! Being lazy and doing the character sloppy is, again, insulting to the fans and the character. Choose a character similar to your build also, it will make things alot easier but its not impossible to do someone with a complete different build.

I hope this helps you!
