Description "We are the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your ships. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile."

A redraw of Crys as a Borg, and man can I say that this looks so much better, especially since there's a proper background this time around. Also, just to get it out of the way, yes I know that when assimilated the victim looses all their hair due to the nanoprobes, however I don't think any of my characters would look good bald, especially one that's covered in fur, so I'm ignoring that bit of fact for this drawing. Let's just say that Crys' has some really good cosplay for her werewolf form or something.

The Borg are my favorite Star Trek villains by far. They're so creepy, and quite intimidating as well. Just hearing their collective emotionless voice say that resistance is futile is chilling. Heck, their designs are amazing too. They're not neat and organized. Half the time the drones have a mess of wires and prosthetics protruding from all over. It's genuinely creepy to look at sometimes, especially since they're emotionless husks that only used to be a person. These guys are quite possibly some of the best villains out there.

While drawing this I rewatched First Contact, because of course I did, and it just cements the Borg as some terrifying villains. Seeing Picard's nightmares and the assimilation of crewmembers can be quite terrifying. It's like a horror film at some points when dealing with these cybernetic zombies, and it's pure gold. Also, in the series Enterprise (which takes place after First Contact but before the Original Series) they follow up on the events of the film by showing that some Borg drones had fallen to Earth and froze in the polar ice caps. The scientists who discovered them dethaw them, and well, you can probably guess what happens next. Great episode and follow up to the film. (Oh, and since I'm talking about First Contact. Fun fact: at some points in the film, they play a song from Star Trek the Motion Picture [the first movie], which is the song that plays when the Klingons go to fight V'Ger in the beginning of the movie.)

Honestly, I think it'd be kinda cool to see what other characters look like as Borg. Considering that the Borg can be as simple as some armor plating to as wild as circuitry and cybernetics everywhere, there's a lot of room to be creative with what an assimilated character could look like.

Anywho, hope whoever's seeing this has a wonderful whenever they're seeing this!
