Description there goes dawn and her love for fictional feral cats again

Okie-dokie.

Here's a friendship in Warriors that I personally think deserves more attention: Jayfeather and Briarlight. Hands down, I think this is one of the sweetest non-romantic duos in the entire franchise.    What do I think about the characters?Well, first off, two things:

SPOILER ALERT!

&

Not hate, please. These are just my opinions.

Jayfeather:  He's sort of a mixed bag for me. On the good side, he has a neat ability, his sarcastic and cynical remarks can be funny from time to time, and he's certainly a very clever character. He's not stupid, gracious no. On the bad side, Jay was a whiny brat as a kit and an apprentice, and sure, he was young and frustrated from being treated differently by other cats because of his blindness [which is completely understandable], but still, he was a big moodswing with whiskers and a tail most of the time and just seemed constantly angry, even on good days. Very clear why "emo Jaypaw" was a running joke in the fandom for a while.
I don't hate Jayfeather, but I don't exactly like him either. Sure, he has likable moments and is sympathetic, but...eh. It's a "depends on the situation" thing with me and him.  I liked him better in the Omen of The Stars arc than I did in The Power of Three arc; he just seemed to be more in control of his snappiness and bitter tongue.

Briarlight:   I absolutely adore this baby!   Briarlight's such a little cutie, and easily one of my favorite overall characters in the series! She scores pretty high on my list of fictional characters that I want to scoop up and cuddle and protect forever.
Briar is hands down one of the nicest cats ever. She's very sweethearted, never thinks a negative thought about anyone, and is so positive! In case you don't know, she lost use of her hind legs as an apprentice due to a spinal fracture in the second book of OoTS, Fading Echoes. Having a tree fall on you? At an age that is technically adolescence?  Holy fuck.  That is friggin' scary when you actually think about it. But Briarpaw pulled through, and earned her fitting warrior name.
She is totally crippled in her back legs. They don't work. She has to literally drag herself around the camp. Most of the cats openly admitted that they would've given up, but Briarlight was like "hell no". Her determination is so damn inspiring. And she friends with freakin' EVERYBODY, she's just that nice.
You bet your ass Briarlight is one of my favorite Warrior cats ever. If she dies in the sixth arc, I'm going to cry like a baby. No joke. I will mourn for centuries.

This friendship means a lot to me. Not just because they're both handicapped characters and have pulled through their hardships like total badasses, but because Jayfeather doesn't snap at her like he does others, and because she doesn't expect him to "be happier" or try to be less moody. She understands he's hot-blooded and has a short temper, but she's okay with that because she knows that every cat is different in temperament as they are physically.

Plus, this adorable scene from The Last Hope, page 247:

"I have to check my herb supplies." He headed across the clearing and picked up the bundle of comfrey. Pushing through the brambles, he padded into the den. Briarlight was fast asleep. He could hear her snoring as she lay among the herb stacks.
"Briarlight?" He touched her gently with his muzzle.
She jerked awake. "Sorry!" She heaved herself up. "All that counting made me sleepy. We're going to need more marigold and nettle."
"Go to your nest and rest properly," Jayfeather told her. "I'll keep going here."
"I can help," Briarlight argued.
"Rest," Jayfeather ordered.
"But-"
"Now!" He was going to need all her strength when the battle began. Briarlight's nest rustled as she slid into it. Jayfeather pricked his ears, listening till her breathing deepened.

If it were any other cat, he'd probably would've gotten angry, disabled or not. But not with Briar. There's just something about that...

Anyway, that was just my two cents. I do plan on making more Warriors character/interaction analysations, because of so many controversies.
