This was based off of a prompt to tell a story, and it very much does. In this mixed-media drawing of Sharpie, water color, crayon, oil and chalk pastel, white chalk, and marker illustrate a woman coming from a darker place, almost black, with a cob wed in the top right corner, and behind her, a barely seen dead, twisted tree. In front of her, a soft-beating sun is in the left corner with a flower, rich in reds, hiding behind the soft yellow rays that saturate over and on into her soon-to-be- future with a sharp, bolting line splitting the two worlds; like life and death. In making this, it was for sure one of the greatest pieces I have ever made. It was art that was actually based on myself. This girl, is going through a transformation, and she is leaving behind the things that once brought her joy, and the memories that brought her pain. She was only crying since she knew that it was the end to what she once had, and that it is all over, but that better days are coming. She'll be happy and at peace living in the sun. No grade can be put onto this. It's a story about myself, and even though it's nice to think of an A+++, that's superficial. It's all up to the viewer. I wouldn't change anything about this piece, and if I can say one thing, I take pride that I have at least shown a part of myself and of my life to my watchers.
