Up in the mountains, many stories were told about a mysterious fairy circle. Some stories were contradictory and no evidence of its existence could be found. Rex was determined to change that. He searched throughout the mountains for many months.

It was only after getting lost and completely losing his sense of direction that he finally found it. The fairies giggled and danced all around him as they flew through the air. He did not expect them to be so friendly but he was glad they made him feel at home.

One of them brought him a bowl filled with nectar. She explained it would restore his youth. The other fairies giggled when she said this. Despite the suspicious giggles, Rex wanted evidence and this was the best chance he had to get it so he drank it. Mere seconds later, he was fast asleep.

Twenty years later he, or she, woke up in a grassy meadow. The fairy circle was nowhere to be seen. Although she could hear the echoes of fairies laughing, she had no idea if it was real or just her imagination. Looking at herself, she could see she was about twenty years younger, female, and kind of resembled a human sized fairy.

Not knowing what else to do, she returned to the village from which she had come. People called her Rita and acted like they knew her even though she did not know them except for the oldest villagers. From them, she learned someone named Rex had disappeared twenty years earlier.

When she told them her story, they found it hard to believe. Yet the one they knew as Rita knew many things about Rex that she should not have been able to know. It became another story about the fairy circle and they still had no conclusive proof of any of this. The mystery of the fairy circle remained a mystery.
