This is my 100th caption. It's Chloe time! (Note: Hammerspace is the term used to explain how cartoon characters can suddenly produce hammers or mallets out of nowhere.)

The Agents of Freedom knew the risks when they were undercover as clients of the Junebug Talent Agency. Most of the clients had been turned into mind controlled slaves. Agent Chloe White tried not to call too much attention to herself. If at all possible, she would listen to each message once and only once so she could report back what she had learned.

Even with all the precautions Chloe had taken, she did not always know when she was being exposed to subliminal messages. One night she was one of the clients selected for exposure to subliminal message while she slept. Her hotel room was filled with strange sounds beyond the ability of her conscious mind to hear.

Chloe dreamt of a house she had never been in before. She entered the house and explored it room by room. One of the bedrooms looked like it had been arranged just for her, just like the Junebug Talent Agency arranged hotel rooms just for their clients.

In the corner of that bedroom was a full length mirror. She walked over to it and stared at the image in the mirror. Chloe was wearing a purple dress and white jacket. The image in the mirror was wearing some weird costume that was only suitable for performing on stage. She was happily practicing her routine and saying how much she loved the Junebug Talent Agency.

Chloe asked her mirror image why. Her mirror image did not give a reason. She just insisted that they knew what was best for her and it would be best for everyone if she just kneeled down and served them. Although Agent Chloe White had not been discovered, she could not hide her secret from her own mirror image. The mirror image knew what she was thinking and became instantly hostile.

"Do not resist me!" she warned. "I can cause you great pain."

"You have already caused me great pain!" Chloe snapped back as if she was not speaking to her mirror image but to the Junebug Talent Agency itself. "With every person you have recruited, which admittedly includes me, you have made the world a colder place. As far as joining you is concerned, I would rather die!"

With that statement, Chloe reached into the hammerspace of her mind and pulled out a large mallet. Then she proceeded to smash the mirror until her mirror image was no longer recognizable. She did her best to resist the subliminal messages and wake up. It felt like she was deep underwater and struggling to reach the surface but eventually she managed to wake up.

The Agents of Freedom had planned for such situations in advance. Her safety had been compromised. It was time for her to leave. She grabbed her suitcase, gathered all of her belongings, and walked briskly out of the hotel. She knew she was being observed but they would not go after her. It would be far too easy for things to go wrong.

Agent Chloe White could still help out the remaining agents but she would have to do it from a distance. If she dared to return, they would not take any more chances with her, risk of being discovered or not. Chloe returned to the headquarters of the Agents of Freedom with a smile on her face. For the first time in a long time, she felt safe.
