Words Below:
Mathew showed up late to the sorority party. He had been playing computer games and lost track of time. When he at last saw the time, he hurriedly got ready and ran over to see them. He wondered if it was even worth it to show up late.
One of the sorority sisters greeted him at the door. He apologized for being late and entered. Looking around, he saw he was the only boy there. This surprised him.
Another sorority sister came up to him and asked if he was lonely. He admitted that he was. Yet another sorority sister asked him if he wanted to end his loneliness. Although he was not sure where the conversation was headed, he said that he did.
As soon as he said this, a fog appeared. It surrounded him and filled the entire room. The fog was so thick, he could literally not see his hand in front of his face unless he held it up close.
The girls began to chant things in almost perfect unison. "You are sad and lonely," they said. Mathew had to agree. If anything, the fog was making him even more sad and lonely. Even though he could still hear their voices, it made him feel like he was all alone. "I'm sad and lonely," he echoed back.
"You are without a friend in the world," they chanted. They sounded rather sad. "I am without a friend in the world," agreed Mathew. His tone matched theirs as his voice became slightly higher.
"No one to care about you," they said. "No one to care about me," he repeated. He dropped to the ground and covered his hands with his face.
"Change your loneliness! Change your sex!" the girls exclaimed and repeated it over and over again. "Change your loneliness! Change your sex!"
The fog lifted. Mathew saw himself surrounded by the sorority girl but that did not seem quite right. He also had to change his sex. Doing what he was told, Mathew became Melissa. The girls stopped chanting and told Melissa she had made it into the sorority.
Melissa was really happy. She thought she had lost her chance when she showed up late, but they accepted her anyway. She could finally end her loneliness. With the last arrival for the year accepted, all of them posed for a group photo.
