Legendary Champions was a virtual role playing game made by Virtual Worlds Unlimited. Most of the game took place in a gigantic arena where the characters would battle each other either individually or in teams. Finley loved VRPGs and hoped this would be the best one yet.

First, Finley needed to select his character. The game had thousands of different characters with hundreds of different themes. He selected the anime theme and picked a character who looked like she would be very powerful. Her initial weapon was just a bow and arrows but he knew the weapons and shield would become more powerful over time.

After making sure the character was the way he wanted it, Finley hooked himself up to the machine and entered the virtual world. Seconds later he entered the area and started his first battle. Throughout the arena were various weapons, healing spheres, and power ups. He really did not know what he was doing but from the look of things neither did anyone else.

Because of this the battle lasted a long time. Eventually Finley was able to figure out a strategy and win the game. Soon afterwards he was placed in another arena that was different than the one before. Over time Finley learned a strategy that seemed to work no matter what kind of area it was. This strategy was adjusted for the different obstacles and opponents he would face in each arena.

The game was not all combat. Conversations with teammates and others was encouraged. After three hours of nonstop combat the battle going on would be completed and then the character could not take part in any more battles until the game was reset the next day. During that time the player was allowed to buy items, adjust the powers of the character, and talk to others.

Finley's character appeared both lovely and formidable. It was not long before a guild asked him to join them. He was a natural at the game and advanced rapidly in the rankings. It was not long before he was battling some of the best players in the game. Finley himself was considered one of the best players in the game.

Finley loved the idea of someone who looked like a magic girl being so domineering and for all practical purposes he was that magical girl. Conversations ranged from strategy to cosmetic extras to everyday life. Finley loved the game and hoped he could play it forever, yet he knew there was another world outside of the virtual one that he would still have to face every day.
