Description

She stood before the painting, admiring it, drinking in the rich details, the colors, it was, soothing.

Carefully she ran her finger over the wooden surface, crudely cut, she wondered why the artist had chosen to frame such a beautiful work in such a rudimentary frame. The work though, was what drew the eye, the painting itself seemed so realistic that it was almost alive. If she closed her eyes, she could almost feel the cold air whispering against her face, tickling the fur around her chest.

It had been a gift, well, sort of, her employer had never asked for it back.

Now, she found it a pleasant reassuring, like an old familiar presence it was soothing in a way she found difficult to put into words.

Perhaps it was because it reminded her of a winter home she had only visited once before. A cabin somewhere up in the mountains, there were many pleasant memories attached to that place, and to her, it seemed that some of those feelings were captured here in the painting.

Smiling she patted the frame.
