Mina was on the verge of howling in frustration as she tired to work her way through the move set again. Her weight and balance were all off, every time she tried to drive forwards with the spear she found herself nearly toppling over as the wooden shaft arced out. Bringing the shaft up over her head she tried a downwards stab as though to pin a fish from the silty waters surrounding her island home.
She had done this move half a hundred times before, but now, as she tried to crunch her abdomen in, things, got in the way, worse yet things that did not like to be squished were being pinched, and they were quick to send signals up to her brain strong enough to make her stop what she was doing. Teeth gritted she tried her best to ignore her sensitive breasts and gave her inadequate top a futile tug to pull it down over her exposed nipples. With the season change and the sudden temperature drop her whole body had become hyper sensitive, she could tell which way the wind was blowing just by standing there, her teats stiffening in the near freezing conditions.

Grunting in frustration, she turned her back on the persistent wind letting it buffet her shoulders and sides. It wasn’t much better but it was something, and in this case something was better than nothing. Still the cold persistently tugged at her, following her curves and seeking out any exposed bit of fur it could find. Which in her case was proving to be more and more a problem.

She had sacrificed her arm wrappings to the cause, an act that still made her cringe as it was the last of the tattered leather fabric she had left. And, if by her own crude calendar the honkers would not return here for another four to six months and by that point it was likely she would be down to nothing but tatters at the rate she was going. Shivering in the cold she looked out across the gray sea and frowned, all she needed was one, a single honker could be made into a hundred different things to make her life easier, meat, bone, hide, fat, she had learned to recognize and use everything and that everything had value here. An aspect of life she was strongly recalling now.

With a final shiver she tugged at her top and drew her spear back across her chest. The island didn’t care if she was uncomfortable, cold, or lacked clothing for the coming winter. Nor would the murky waters around her show any mercy either, if she didn’t learn how to rebalance herself and start catching fish again. Biting her lip she raised the spear over her head again and begin the exercise over in the cold morning air.
