The morning air was chilly, as Mina slipped out from under the blankets and stretched. Fingers intertwining as she arched her back feeling the muscles tense and slowly relax as she let out a sigh of contentment. It was still twilight through the window despite the later hour from which she was used to rising. The idea of sleeping in still something she found hard to do after years of isolation on the island.
Reaching for the pile of leathers she had left on the floor she quickly began to dress. Deft fingers pulling on her leggings and securing her bracers around each forearm, turned inwards to for the extra warmth of the inside lining. The cold leather was enough to send a shiver through her body, especially as she slipped her top on, her nubs hardening under the sudden chill. Eyes casting downwards she made several quick adjustments, pulling her outfit into place as the worn leather moved to fit the contours of her body like an old glove.

Not quite fitting as well as it had been a week before, Mina shifted making a few more adjustments, she had been getting fluffy again. Something she had come to accept and even expect about this time of year. The colder it got outside the denser her fur became, despite her attempts to brush it out. In a matter of a month she would become a walking marshmallow of fuzz, and insist that anything above twenty degrees was unbearably hot.

Given that she had only recently learned about the small box that Indy had referred to as the thermostat, she had marveled at how it could be used to control the temperature of the hose. Though she suspected that a subsequent ban on touching it was lurking in her future should she touch it again. Having chilled the house to something more tolerable on one occasion.

This had sparked a brief but comical explanation that if she had lowered the temperature any further that the pipes would freeze and likely there would be ice crystals growing on the freezer. Having sparked an idea, had led to a few more memorable encounters, the last and most memorable one being when her lover had opened the fridge only to discover her curled on the lower shelf next to the meat. Subsequent explanations and one brief aerial flight into a snowbank later had resolved that issue. At least for that year.

Looking herself over, she could already tell that her body was well on its way to preparing her for the second ice age. Her tail, already fluffy, had grown in size to be larger than the rest of her put together. Making like a blanket in its own right, all she had to do was drape it over herself and she would practically vanish under it without effort.

Her hair too was starting to fluff out, her loose curls becoming practically wild in her eyes surrounding her face like a fiery halo. She had been meaning to ask Amenii about that when next they met, she had never seen the hyena the bunny was so fond of having such issues with her curls.

Resolving to deal with that later, Mina slipped off the bed and began padding her way down the hall. One thing at a time, first, she needed to take care of something that had been on her mind for the longest of time.
