Arie’s nose twitched and she was awake a moment later. She had been dreaming, of, of, something, she was being chased by something terrible, though she could not see it she knew that if it caught her, it would be death.
The nightmare had left her shaking, sweat had soaked the blankets and the lumpy mattress beneath her. Tight horas breaths filled her lungs as she flung the blankets off. ‘Just a dream.’

She muttered to herself, only the words came out funny sounding, slurred, and her mouth felt strange. It was difficult to be sure, but something felt off, out of place, maybe it was the sweat clinging to her face, matting her fur as it did following such nightmares.

Extending her hand Arie touched her face, it was sticky.

Drool.

Her first thought was that she had drooled all over her pillow again, it would leave a nasty stain in the morning, and Madam Kour would berate her for making a mess. And a mess meant laundry duty, Jimmy Holker, who still wetted the bed always seemed to get laundry duty.

Maybe she could hide it, turn the pillow over and Kour would not notice, lifting her face Arie was shocked as the fabric clung to her fur. With a horrible crackling sound the fabric parted from her face, it was as though half her jaw was covered in honey it stuck so bad.

Then the smell hit her, a tangy metallic odor she knew too well. Blood.

Instinctively she licked her lips, paused, her tongue finding void where teeth had been.

Panic took her, grasping at her face her fingers found the gaps, her teeth, they were gone! Breath coming in frantic gasps, Arie bolted up in bed trying not to cry, ‘this was wrong, this thing wasn’t supposed to happen.’

Fumbling in the dark she managed to find her lamp, the light flooded the room in a pale orange glow and caused several of those around her to curse bitterly and roll over.

Hands shaking, Arie grasped the mirror by her night stand and held it to her face. ‘Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, God.’ She whispered, blood was everywhere, covering the side of her face in a crimson sheet, worse though, was the holes where her fangs had been. Now only raw pits of flesh remained.

‘Arie, turn off that-‘ A voice beside her grumbled, then fell silent. A second later a horrified scream split the air.

Lights snapped on throwing the room into shadow. Frantic, Arie tried to cover her face, but the blood was on her hands too. Muffled gasps and frightened screams spread across the room as sleepers woke.

Above the din a single voice boomed out, ‘She’s killed Jimmy!’ Karl, a kangaroo joy, two years her senior yelled pointing at her.

‘N-No!’ Arie stammered, to horrified to react.

‘She’s Killed Jimmy!’ Karl screamed again this time pointing at the empty bed were Jimmy had been sleeping. ‘She Killed Jimmy!’

Screams stated echoing around the room,

‘Oh, God!’

‘She’s going to kill us next!’

‘Help! Someone help!’

‘Out of my way!’

‘Help!’

The room descended into chaos, orphans fled screaming in all directions, pillows flew at her as some thought to cover their retreat. Arie’s voice was lost in the others. ‘I – I didn’t! I didn’t hurt anyone!’ She wailed. ‘Please, help me! Help!’

‘Help!’

Several hours passed before order could be restored. Jimmy Holker, the victim, of The Beastly Bitty, had been found in one of the stalls unmaimed, and uneaten, much to the disappointment of some of the children. The common sleeping hall was a mess and took the better part of an hour to put back to order, and the perpetrator of the incident was still missing.

After several sweeps of the grounds, Arie was located, huddled under a stairwell in the basement. Her face a mess of blood and tears.

C.S. Notes: So, I can bet a some of you are wondering, C.S. Where and why do you create these monstrous pieces of horror? The truth is simple, this piece was created by Subconscious, I was trying to get a well needed nap after work, and my subconscious decided to plug this nightmare into the old DVD player.

Needless to say the dream was so disturbing, I needed a vent to get it out of my head. And let me assure you, the dream was a whole lot bloodier, and full of screaming.

And people wonder why I’m a borderline insomniac.

Anyways, this is a young Arie, at the orphanage, being a cross breed she has many troubles, irregular growth in particular. At the moment, she is teething, losing her baby teeth in preparation to get her adult set, but, no one ever explained that to her…

So, she is freaking out, and understandably so.

Thankfully, one good thing did come of this whole disaster, the victim in question Jimmy Holker and her would later become friends.
