- Lore Story:

The series revolves around a team of ghost hunters called the Phantom Busters, a group of three youths and an eccentric professor trying to prove the existence of ghosts. When the villains of the season, the Phaser Legion invade, the three ranges are saved from near death by a mysterious figure who would give them each a Yurei Crystal. The professor would then create Ghost Gunners that would work with the crystals, transforming them into the PhantomBusters that would fight the Phasers. Because the Phasers wee ghosts and unable to reside long in the living world, they'd possess people with strong connections to the dead (typically people with lost loved ones) and it’s the job of the PhantomBusters to get rid of them
