some people like dragons
perhaps for their power-
a spell spilled from flagons
grants flight from the bower
never an animal was
as regal and formidable
with tree crushing claws
and stature considerable
his blasting fire
foments from his mouth
onset in his ire
from nostrils smoke spouts
and unlike our reptiles
who serpentine mute
this witty spark smiles
and speaks of his loot-
forgive me if i
don't fall for the magic
'cause although i try
i just can't imagine
a lizard who speaks
and fries what he hates
cause wisdom is weak
in brain size of grapes,
and wouldn't it hurt
and damage throughout
when a creature grew curt
fire blew through his snout?
